Decontaminating pavements and façades
Air Clean®
Air Clean® photocatalytic materials
Photocatalytic treatments reduce toxic compounds in the atmosphere and make it possible to kill bacteria and fight germs. Thus taking care of people, the environment and public spaces.
Air clean® floor coverings reduce air pollution by means of a photocatalysis decontaminating agent. Under the effects of sunlight, it decomposes pollutant oxides (NOx) into by-products that are discharged into the rainwater.
Scientifically proven efficacy
Laboratory tests: The degradation of nitrogen oxides (NOx) is determined according to the UNE 127197-1:2013 standard. These tests measure the % of NOx degradation, an indicator of the photocatalytic and decontaminating capacity of the material. Air Clean® photocatalytic flooring has been certified as class 3 (% NOx removal >8.0%), the highest category within the standard.
On-site tests: The effectiveness of Air Clean® floors has also been proven in on-site tests. Even in unfavourable climatic conditions, they have given very satisfactory results.
Life Photoscaling: Study coordinated and executed by the prestigious Eduardo Torroja Institute of Construction Sciences. NOx reduction values of more than 30%. Year 2019.
Plaza Can Rosés, Barcelona: Study carried out together with the Barcelona City Council and coordinated and verified by SGS, giving average NOx reduction values of 25.4 %.
Fraunhofer Institute: Paving of a street in Erfurt, Germany with Air Clean® photocatalytic pavers and the results obtained showed an average reduction of 20% of NO2 and 38% of NO. Study conducted by the German Federal Foundation for the Environment. Year 2006.
Air purification performance:
In 1 hour, 1 m² of Air Clean® photocatalytic flooring is able to degrade 37.3% of NOx = 77.6 mg NOx /m² hour.
This is equivalent to 4.6 times more decontamination capacity than the maximum stipulated by the standard: Class 3 (NOx removal % >8.0 %).
